Lifes Learnings

Lifes Learnings

Was talking with a friend who lived her life as a world being on a number of continents. She reflected on the straight jacket that American culture, or any dominant culture, poses for those who are not naturally comfortable with themselves. I've decided that my imagery reflects my comfort with my vision and I'm happy to be aware of the ease with which I share my comfort. I hope you feel comfort from viewing my comfort.

Sharing Lifes Learnings Through Photography

I'm curious to find out how the market works. I've worked in public service institutions all of my working life. I lived my life in America. I've lived my life in the social constructions of race, gender, religion, and social demographic of African American, male, Christian, Teacher, Administrator, Researcher, Community Activist, College Instructor, and now Photographer. From this wealth of life experiences I'm exploring the images and visions that have arisen from my many experiences and travels. I believe there is one basic market principle, scarcity, that forms the basis for beneficial exchanges with other. Fine Art America has constructed a wonderful laboratory in which I can reach out to the many potential customers in the world. Facebook and Twitter have provided two of the most efficient advertising tools in the modern world. I am learning to use all of these web based devices to share my photography with similarly situated people in the wider world. I recognize that the people I can reach share some very fundamental similarities with me, e.g., having the resources to engage in internet based activities. In this highly integrated world, there is a high likelihood that there are are other commonalities and similarities shared by myself and my viewers. I am continually surprised by the geographic location of the viewers of my photographs. Thanks to Facebook some of my viewers have taken the time to contact me on Facebook to let me know how much they enjoyed my work. As I continue in this commerical journey, I'll keep you posted on my experiences and insights.
